Cosplay the Documentary Trailer

Another project I've been working on as an editor and camera operator is Cosplay The Documentary. I've finished the trailer recently and was able to release it. The film follows six people with varying skill sets and cosplay experience as they collaborate as a group to complete a series of cosplays from League of Legends and compete at a convention.

Final DSLR Film

Here's my final for my cinematography class! I was the director of photography for my friend Johanna's film in the directing class. The film is based on a scene from the play This is Our Youth by Kenneth Lonergan.

 

Color Correction

For the sixth project in cinematography, I had to color correct one of the sequences that I had done previously in the semester. Here's side by side the original image, the color corrected image, and finally the graded image.

Location Scouting

For my fifth assignment in cinematography, I had to do a location scout of the location I was shooting my final assignment for. The final assignment was shooting a film for someone in the directing class. Here's how I scouted out the location. We had to scout the location both creatively and technically. Creatively we needed to decide what angles would be good and work well for the story, but also which angles wouldn't work as well. Here's what I came up with.

As far as the technical scout, I had to find out where there were available power outlets as well as how the sun interacts with the location. I plotted where the sun would be in the sky during different times of the day in relation to the set.

Magical Realism Photography

This was a really cool assignment to do, I ended up taking a series of self portraits that were slightly magical in some sense. I did some light painting, long exposure, fast exposure, etc. It was really cool to take these photos!

Here's the fourth assignment from cinematography, we just had to make any sort of sequence that tells a short narrative visually (without sound as well). I decided to do a chat over tea.

Color Intensifies Emotion in a Portrait

For my third assignment in Art and Science of Color we worked with how color influences emotion in portraiture. This was probably my favorite assignment because I absolutely love portraiture. I think these photos are some of my favorite ones I took this whole semester.
